About the Event
Q1. How long is an author event?
A. Each author event is 30 minutes long for grades K–2 and 40 minutes long for grades 3–6, including time for a Q&A session with the author.
Q2. Are the author events interactive?
A. Yes! Each author event includes at least one interactive element—like reading, writing, or drawing—with the author or illustrator.
Q3. Do students need to read the book(s) beforehand?
A. No. The featured books enhance the experience but are not required reading before the author event.
Q4. Are the author events aligned with academic standards?
A. Yes! Bookelicious author events are thoughtfully designed to support academic standards and classroom learning.
Student Participation
Q5. Can students ask the author questions?
A. Yes! All registered schools can apply to be a Spotlight School. Selected schools appear on the live author event to ask questions directly of the author. All other classrooms can submit questions through the Q&A box during the webinar.
Q6. Will author events be recorded?
A. Yes. All author events are recorded and available to watch for 30 days after the live event. (For registrants only.) Please note: the live student Q&A portion is not included in the recording.
Access and Attendance
Q7. How many classrooms can attend per school?
A. Event pricing includes access for up to 5 Zoom links per school. Need more? Additional links can be added for $5 each.
Q8. When will we receive our Zoom links?
A. Zoom links are sent directly from Zoom no later than one week before the event.
Q9. What should I do if I don’t see my Zoom link?
A. First, check your SPAM or junk folder—the link comes directly from Zoom. If you still can’t find it, email us at customercare@bookelicious.com and we’ll help you out.
Q10. Can we attend at a different time?
A. No, the author event is only available live at the scheduled time. Can’t make it? Email customercare@bookelicious.com to learn about other options to fit your schedule.
Q11. Can multiple classrooms gather to watch an author event with one Zoom link?
A. Yes! You can project the author event in a shared space (library, auditorium, gym) for several classrooms or the whole school.

Q12. What comes with the event purchase?
A. Your purchase includes:
- 5 Zoom access links
- 5 hardcover books* (choose 5 of the author’s latest title or an author collection of 5 different titles by the author)

- Opportunity to apply to be a Spotlight School
- 30-day access to the event recording
*All books are hardcover and subject to availability. If hardcovers of a title are no longer available from the publisher, paperbacks will be substituted.
Q13. When will the books arrive?
A. Books generally ship within 4–6 weeks of receiving full payment, though shipping timelines cannot be guaranteed. To ensure books arrive before the event, full payment must be received at least 30 days in advance.
Q14. Can we choose our books?
A. Yes! You can select either 5 copies of the author’s latest title or an author collection showcasing 5 different titles by the author. You’ll make your selection during registration.
Tech & Troubleshooting
Q15. What platform are the author events hosted on?
A. All author events are hosted via Zoom Webinar. You do not need a Zoom account to join—just the access link.
Q16. Do we need a webcam to attend?
A. No webcam is needed to watch the event. However, if your class is selected as a Spotlight School, you’ll need a webcam and microphone to interact live with the author.
Q17. What if we have technical issues during an author event?
A. We’ll have a live support contact available during the event to help with any issues. We'll also provide a recording afterward in case you miss any part.
Ordering & Payment
Q18. How do we pay for an author event?
A. We accept credit cards, purchase orders, and checks. Details and instructions are provided during registration.
Q19. Can we request an invoice?
A. Yes. Complete the registration form, select your options, and choose "Invoice" on the question about payment options. The invoice will be emailed within three (3) business days, which includes a link to pay with credit card.
Q20. Can we request a quote to submit to our finance department?
A. Yes. Complete the registration form, select your options, and choose "quote" on the question about payment options. The quote will be emailed within three (3) business days.
Q21. Can we get a receipt?
